Southern Tennessee Obstetrics and Gynecology Hosts Open House

October 3, 2016

Southern Tennessee Obstetrics and Gynecology hosted an Open House this week on the campus of Southern Tennessee Regional Health System in Pulaski. Dr. Neetu Gupta joined the Southern Tennessee Regional family earlier this month and brings with her a team of experts focused on providing modern healthcare for the modern woman. Having Dr. Gupta on campus is an illustration of STRHS' committment to expanding the scope of care available to the people of Giles and surrounding counties.

Dr. Gupta received her medical education at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (PGIMS) in Rohatak, Haryana, India.  PGIMS is a premier institute in the field of medical sciences and has been one of the best institutes in South East Asia for medical education.   She completed her four year residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Rochester General Hospital in Rochester, New York.

“From the moment I met Dr. Gupta I knew she would be a hit locally because she has such a disarming personality”, said STRHS Pulaski CEO, Jim Edmondson.  “A down-to-earth and sweet affect that makes you instantly trust her and that’s an important quality in the business she is in.”

Dr. Gupta's women's health services include: obstetrics, gynecology, contraception, routine prenatal care, and providing postpartum care to moms. .  As a gynecologist she will treat various female conditions in her office as well as perform female surgeries at the hospital.  Such conditions are abnormal periods, infertility, endometriosis, ovarian problems, premenstrual syndrome (PMS), urinary problems, menopause, and much more.

“Dr. Gupta’s arrival marks a significant milestone for our community,” added Edmondson.  “First, we have returned to one of our former service lines, gynecology.  But more interesting Dr. Gupta is an awesome complement to the maternal services probed by Dr. Sara Beth Bush and Dr. Cara Riley.  There is a popular notion about women preferring women physicians when it comes to maternal health.  Come to think of it, that’s another important milestone is that when it comes to the complete line of women’s services, we have women taking care of women at STHRS Pulaski.”

Dr. Gupta is married to pulmonologist, Dr. Vikas Jain who also has a medical practice in Pulaski, Southern Tennessee Pulmonology and Critical Care.

Southern Tennessee Obstetrics and Gynecology is located at 1275 E. College Street which is in the medical office building adjacent to the emergency entrance at the hospital.  The office is open Monday through Friday.  For additional information or to make an appointment, call 931-292-6644.
