Pulmonologist Joins Southern Tennessee Lawrenceburg Staff

November 12, 2014

Southern Tennessee Regional Health System - Lawrenceburg officials announce the addition of pulmonologist, Dr. Vikas Jain to the medical staff.

“Dr. Jain will be a tremendous asset to the hospital and greater-Lawrence County,” said STRHS – Lawrenceburg CEO, Jeff Noblin. “Having a pulmonologist on staff will enhance the care provided to patients and enable us the opportunity to treat those patients with respiratory and chest conditions who previously may have had to be transferred somewhere else for their care. Adding specialists such as Dr. Jain to our medical team exemplifies our commitment to providing quality, specialized care and making our community healthier.”

Pulmonology is the medical specialty that deals with diseases involving the respiratory tract. Physicians such as Dr. Jain who have chosen the pulmonology specialty must complete residency training in internal medicine after receiving their medical degree, then participate in a fellowship in pulmonary medicine.

Dr. Jain completed his internal medicine residency at Interfaith Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY and a three year fellowship in pulmonary medicine at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY. He is Board Certified in internal medicine and pulmonology.

Mr. Noblin said Dr. Jain will have clinics in both Lawrenceburg and Pulaski and will treat patients, perform procedures, and consult on inpatients at both hospitals in Lawrence and Giles counties.

The doctor and family will soon be relocating to Lawrence County and he will open his practice, Southern Tennessee Pulmonology in November. Dr. Jain’s office is located at 1323 South Locust Avenue in Lawrenceburg and his Pulaski office is located at 200 Hillside Drive in Pulaski.  For additional infomation call 931-766-0850.
