Jim Edmondson Named LifePoint Health's CEO of the Year

Southern Tennessee Regional Health System-Pulaski (STRHS-Pulaski) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Jim Edmondson has been named “CEO of the Year” by LifePoint Health®, a leading healthcare company dedicated to Making Communities Healthier®. This award is presented annually to an outstanding leader within the LifePoint family who exemplifies the company’s core values of honesty, integrity and trustworthiness, inclusion, compassion and ethical and legal compliance, while demonstrating excellence in business operations and talent development.

Edmondson is currently in his second tenure as CEO of the facility, having formerly served as CEO from 1996-2010 when the facility was known as Hillside Hospital. He served as CEO of Riverview Regional Medical Center in Gadsden, Alabama before returning to STRHS-Pulaski in 2015.

Edmondson was recognized for his determined focus, unwavering dedication to LifePoint’s core values and ceaseless dedication to his employees. In presenting the award, Scott Raplee, president of LifePoint’s Central Group, recognized Edmondson’s exceptional leadership and enthusiasm, and his relentless commitment to quality and teamwork that have helped STRHS-Pulaski achieve remarkable success during his tenure.

Under Edmondson’s leadership, the hospital has continued to improve quality and enhance patient safety. Notably, he led the facility to achieve esteemed designation as a Duke LifePoint Quality Affiliate through the LifePoint National Quality Program, and earn an 8th place ranking on Modern Healthcare’s 2017 list of the Best Places to Work in Healthcare.

Edmondson has more than 30 years of healthcare leadership experience. He earned a master’s degree in Health Services Administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and a Bachelor of Science in Sociology and Organizational Behavior from Oklahoma State University.
